Tri County Wild Fire Benefit Concert

Saturday November 19, 2011

Just an FYI, that I have an upcoming event where I am not only one of the music artists. But I'm also the "Co Promoter".

The name of the event is the "Tri County Wild Fire Benefit Concert". Go by & check out the infor. on my calendar page as well as go to our Facebook page: http://Facebook.com/tricountywildfirebenefitconcert

Believe it or not, this all started on Facebook and grew from there. This all started as I had a desire to want to do something to help the wild fire victims.

Texas really has taken a beating this summer with all the wild fires. And I heard, my home state, Oklahoma, has had a few themselves. Well, I knew I couldn't do something to help all of Texas & Oklahoma. So, I thought, I'd try to do something for the wild fire victims who are in & around the N.W. part of the Houston metro area.
However, I never imagined that it would grow to become as big as it's looking to be. At least, it seems that way.
I feel a lot like Gideon, the guy from the Bible, whom God called to lead the Israel army into battle which only could be won with God (they were extremely out numbered).
Anyways, Gideon didn't feel qualified but God knew he was. So, this has been a total faith thing with little obstacles & other unexpected things that crop up when you plan an event like this. But God led me to do this so I'm giving it my best effort.

I am honored to have on board with me, a local non profit by the name of "God's Helping Hands Network" as well as several other volunteers, musician & non musician alike.
I'm happy to be partnering with our sponsors who are helping us make this event possible.
Please, click on the link on our Facebook page to check them out & possibly even consider doing business with them. By the way, this event takes everyone coming together to make it happen as well as people who will attend & feel led to partner with us in our endeavors to raise money for the victims. 100% of the profits go strictly to meet the needs of those affected by the wild fires in Montgomery, Grimes, & Waller County.
Please, contact me at Tawana@Tawana.org if you feel led to volunteer at the event or if your company or organization wants to sponsor the event.
Right now, we're trying to cover the remaining concert expenses. So, a monetary donation is what's needed most.
Send me an email & I'll explain the benefits of sponsorship. Also, The event is free but we will have different opportunities for you to give during this event. If you're anywhere in or around the Houston metro area, please plan your day for this event.
Partner with us to help our friends & neighbors in Montgomery, Grimes, & Waller County. Have a blessed evening:)

Have A Facebook Page?? Have a Favor To Ask...

Monday July 11, 2011

I generally never use my website for things that are unrelated to my ministry. But in this case, I thought I'd do it this one time. My daughter, "Christa" is in the Gerber.com Photo contest. If you have a Facebook page, would you mind taking a minute & going to the Gerber FB page & vote for her? The contest is through the 31st of July (you can vote daily). The grand prize is a college scholarship for the overall winner. Thank you so much for taking a minute to help us out:). Have a blessed day!

Why It's Important For Christians To Go To Church-Take a Moment & Read This...

Wednesday June 29, 2011

Let us consider one another . . . , not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together. —Hebrews 10:24-25

Note by: "Tawana"-Christians & Non Christians should both go to a "Christ centered" church to either come to know Christ for the first time & then to grow, encourage others & help within the church. Read on as to why it's important for Christians (new & people in the faith for a while) to be involved in a local church. Article by: Rockin' Ron Carino-June 29, 2011.

Churchgoing has fallen on difficult times lately. For some Christians it is a weak substitute for a picnic on a rainy Sunday. Excuses are as plentiful as quarters in the collection plate. The fact is, many professing Christians don’t think church is all that important. They think they can be perfectly good Christians without being part of a local congregation.

The author of Hebrews disagreed! For one thing, our own spiritual welfare is not to be our only concern. We go to church not just to get but to give—to spur on other Christians to “love and good works” (Hebrews 10:24). If we stay away, we may give them an excuse to be careless.

On the other hand, if we attend with enthusiasm, we encourage other believers in their ambition to draw near to Christ. If we are faithful in meeting together with them, we will honor the Lord, grow in our faith, and give a strong witness to the world.

The Christian faith allows no room for rugged individualists. To have a fire, you need more than one coal. You also need a spark and a draft of air. One humble, open, involved individual—perhaps you—set on fire by Christ, can be the spark. And the Holy Spirit, the breath of God, may blow on that spark and set a congregation ablaze.
--------------------------------------------------
So you gathering with other believers?

Are you encouraging other believers and are you on fire for the Lord sharing your life and pointing others to JESUS?

Well, I hope the answer is " YES". We sure do need each other. That means you and I must be there for our BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST

I look forward to be there for you with encouraging uplifting christian music SATURDAY NIGHTS 6PM CENTRAL UNTIL MID ON www.bethelks.edu/kbcu, Cable 7 in Newton, KS and FM 88.1

Call Your Senators ASAP-Senate Voting TONIGHT on Planned Parenthood...

Thursday April 14, 2011

Just an FYI that the U.S. Senate is voting tonight whether to "defund" Planned Parenthood or not. If you are Pro Life, you still have time to call your U.S. senators' Washington D.C. offices & tell your senator how to vote. Personally, I'd rather them vote to save "thousands" of unborn children's lives instead of cutting our military's paychecks (when they sacrifice a lot to protect our country). They won't ask you any personal infor. Just your zip code. It just takes a minute to call. Thank you for making a difference:)...
