Tawana Performed On Daystar Network on 8/22... - August 26, 2008
Just an update about my performance on Friday, when I was on the Daystar Network (Houston Affiliate Station). Everything went well... I sung "Dancin' On The Clouds". I admit I was a little nervous as I realized that this show (Houston Celebration) has the potential to be viewed by up to 5 million people, in the Houston metro area. But that's a lot of people for God to minister to through the music & the special guest speakers. Demonica Gladney, who was the guest speaker, did an excellent job sharing her story & encouraging people to "Wait On The Lord". We had "several" people who called in for prayer during the program. Which, in the big scheme of things, was the most important thing of all. I did get two ministry opportunities as a result of performing on Daystar. Which, I'm always thankful for more open doors. It was definitely a blessing! I will have a couple of pictures on the website soon of my day at "Daystar". I'm looking forward to possibly partnering with them again.
New Songs... - August 6, 2008
The Lord is leading me to write music lately about topics that may challenge us to step out of our comfort zone for Christ. And for me to talk about things that may not be openly talked about in the church... I have just finished writing a new song called: "I'll Still Stand". I am very excited about this one because it challenges people to stand for what they believe in, knowing it's the right thing to do. And for them to not compromise their values/beliefs "as a Christian" to please other people (even in the midst of persecution)-Realizing, that in the big scheme of things, it's what God thinks that really matters... I will be recording this one in the near future. Style wise, this song is a Rock Ballad. Come to one of my events to check it out as it's not recorded "yet".
Also, I'm finishing up a song that has to do with a topic that's not talked about much in the church. But this struggle does exist... It's about Internet Addiction. The name of the song: "In The Dark". And it is only God who can free anyone of this or any other kind of addiction. You'll probably hear this one in the near future several places as I'm partnering with an organization that's on the frontlines in helping people who stuggle with Internet Addiction (CovenantEyes.com). This one's written in a story format which I'm thinking it'll be more Pop in style. But I have to finish the chorus to determine that.
So, just an FYI about these two songs. Please, pray as the Lord directs me on my songwriting & my ministry. My hope in any/all songs that I write, is that it challenges Christians to draw closer to Christ. And ultimately, for God to reach those in the world who may not know him-that he's the hope/answer to anything they ever go through...

"Just Gotta Sing" Auth. Dealer - July 18, 2008
I just wanted to let everyone know that I am an authorized "Just Gotta Sing" Vocal Products Dealer (Entertainer's Secret Throat Spray). So, if you're a singer, speaker, or have a job where you do a lot of talking, this spray would be great for keeping your throat hydrated & help you to talk or sing longer than usual. I am selling it for $7.00/bottle plus shipping (Can send 3 packs which last longer between orders). This spray helps me a lot with having GERD. And believe it or not, helps with congestion too when you've got a lecture, sermon or have a concert/performance. I decided to be a distributor as I think it's a great product & I wanted to know "where to buy it" (I was told that I'm the only distributor in Texas). Anyways, I'll have the logo & everything set up so you can purchase it from this website the first part of next week. So, it's available for purchase to help with music expenses. I'll also have it on my merch. table @ my concerts (w/no shipping fee). So, no pressure-Just know it's available & is a really great throat spray. For more information: Tawana@Tawana.org

More than likely, it'll be listed tomorrow. Also, I will be starting to send my monthly e mails through IH so, if you're on my mailing list, just an FYI... If not, I'd love to add you. It will keep you up to date with what's going on in this ministry.

Just an FYI that I am running a summer special for my music CD "Just Sing!"... Right now, you can buy the CD for $10.00 (reg. price: $12.00). If you're wondering where to buy my physical CD "online" (or to digitally purchase my whole CD-alittle less if you're into Ipods & mp3 players), here's where to go: Link to: Tawana, my personal website: www.Tawana.org, and www.OutboundMusic.com (Go to their on line store & type in my name then click search).

So, it's well worth the purchase as it's a worthy cause to gain back those who are entrapped by Internet Pornography Addiction. I know you'll be blessed & encouraged by the music that God's given me as well as the excellent producer, engineers, & musicians who worked with me on this project (all based out of Nashville except for on one song). Also, tell your friends as the purchase of my CD helps to support my music ministry for the sake of reaching others for Christ.

Note About Covenant Eyes Articles.. - April 15, 2008
Hello,
Thank you for stopping by & reading my News/Journal page. You maybe wondering what's the deal with the articles about Covenant Eyes? And why do I want to have this information on my site?
Well, first off, there are numerous people from all walks of life that have been affected by Internet Pornography (Please refer to the Online Danger Article for statistics). There's been those who are the ones addicted or tempted to "look" & there are his/her family members who are affected & hurt by his/her addiction. Internet Pornography is a very serious thing, affecting young & old alike. It starts out small (& grows in the dark as a secret) and grows to the point of addiction & worse. It affects the way you view the opposite gender. It's been the downfall of several families resulting in Adultery, Divorce as well other things. There's people who are "good citizens", church leaders, & even family members that you'd never suspect has this addiction. Children are even prone to slipping into viewing pornography on the internet. And it can really affect them even as they grow into adulthood. So, as you can see, it affects people from all walks of life.
Personally, I've never had an addiction myself. But I have known people in my life through friendships & working relationships who have/had internet addictions or who had a spouse who was addicted to Internet Pornography. And it ended their marriage. 100% of the time, it was people who I'd have never suspected (the one struggling). So, it's been a personal thing to me.
I'm tired of the devil using this sin to break down marriages & families. And I'm very passionate about doing what I can for the Lord to fight against Internet Pornography and the Pornography Industry as a whole (I'm even going to donate a $1.00 to the cause from every CD that I sell on my 2nd run). That is why I partnered with CovenantEyes.com. It's more than just a business trying to sell you Accountability Software & or a Filtering System to put on your computer. They're also a ministry that wants to help & minister to those who struggle by offering their services at an affordable price & providing resources on a more personal level as well. Their system has been developed to be extremely difficult to get around. And it's been out on the market the longest. As far as recommendations (besides mine): "Focus On The Family" (James Dobson) endorses
CovenantEyes.com.
So, take a look at the articles about CovenantEyes.com. This accountability & or filtering software system can also be utilized by Parents wanting to protect their kids while on the net as well as by businesses/churches/organizations who want Internet Responsibility/Integrity in the workplace. If you want to try it out, the first month is free & it's very inexpensive ($7.99/month). Make sure to mention/input my promo code: TJAlbert.

On Line Danger You Should Know About.. - March 31, 2008
Internet Danger you should know about:
By the end of 2004, there were 420 million pages of pornography (LaRue, Jan. “Obscenity and the First Amendment.” Summit on Pornography. Rayburn House Office Building. Room 2322. May 19, 2005).
The largest group of viewers of Internet porn is children between ages 12 and 17 (Family Safe Media, December 15, 2005)
5 stages to addiction: Early exposure, addiction, escalation, desensitization, and acting out sexually. This addiction is a sin committed with the mind and then, with the body, by acting out. It can destroy individuals, children, families, marriages, and our testimony for Jesus Christ.
The Internet pornography industry generates $12 billion dollars in annual revenue – larger than the combined annual revenues of ABC, NBC, and CBS (Family Safe Media, January 10, 2006)
Pornographers ‘disguise’ their sites with common brand names and misspellings designed to “entrap” people. (Ex: ESPN and Disney.)
Pornography in many forms is invading people’s homes and is available 24 hrs a day. In a short period of time the Internet has become the most exploited instrument of perversion known to man.
51% of Pastors say Internet pornography is a possible temptation. 37% say it is a current struggle. (Christianity Today, Leadership survey, Dec 2001.) 4 in 10 pastors have visited a porn website.
Pornography is physically more addicting that cocaine and ‘imprints’ the mind with images. Overcoming pornography addiction takes years, and may affect you and everyone around you, the rest of your life.
A recent study by focus on the Family, (March 2000) shows 1 in 5 adults, 20%, which is nearly 40 million people, have visited a sexually oriented web site.
Today's Christian Woman in 2003 found that one in six women (17%) including Christians, struggles with pornography addiction.
Previously, if you wanted pornographic material you could buy a magazine, video, or visit some establishment. All of these put you at ‘risk’ of being found out. Now, with computers being used in private, unaccountable settings, people can find and view hardcore pornography right in their homes and offices. This can quickly escalate into an addiction with great harm brought to individuals, children, wives and families.
Prevention: Pornography addiction, and the destruction it causes, can be prevented by recognizing the danger, and taking immediate action. You never know when temptation will strike. Protect yourself, your family and your marriage. Sign up to Covenant Eyes today! Visit: www.covenanteyes.com and be accountable in all of your Internet activity.
Commercial pornography sites:
• 74 percent display free teaser porn images on the homepage, often porn banner ads.
• 66 percent did not include a warning of adult content.
• 11 percent included such a warning, but did not have sexually explicit content on the homepage.
• 25 percent prevented users from exiting the site (mousetrapping).
• Only 3 percent required adult verification.
(Child-Proofing on the World Wide Web: A Survey of Adult Webservers, 2001, Jurimetrics. National Research Council Report, 2002).
According to the Florida Family Association, PornCrawler, their specialized software program, identified 20 U.S. companies that accounted for more than 70 percent of 297 million porn links on the Internet.
According to comScore Media Metrix, 71.9 million people visited adult sites in August 2005, reaching 42.7 percent of the Internet audience.

Benefits of CovenantEyes... - March 31, 2008
Covenant Eyes Accountability
Fight Back. Get Free, Stay Free
Surveys show at least 70 percent of men and 21 percent of women struggle with online pornography. Escape the temptation by removing the secrecy of the Internet with Covenant Eyes Accountability software.
Once Covenant Eyes software is installed on a Windows or a Mac computer, it monitors and records all web activity and scores all sites according to maturity of content. This information is presented in a customizable Accountability Report that is emailed to the Accountability Partner(s) of your choice. Partners may choose how often they receive the report by email. Both Partners and Members (those who use Covenant Eyes software) may also review reports from our online Member Center.
Because our reports provide scoring, Partners and Members can easily identify mature web addresses, searches, links, and more. The Accountability Report also shows trends for websites viewed and bar charts that show the times of day and night when the Internet was accessed. While other accountability programs are easily circumvented, Covenant Eyes is simply the strongest, most frequently updated accountability service available.
Multiple username discounts are available for families and organizations. Each username will generate its own report even though the computer is shared with other Covenant Eyes users. Once you sign up for a username, download our software to as many as five computers at no extra charge.
Covenant Eyes Filtering
Guard your family.
Protect your family with the Covenant Eyes Filter service, which is only compatible with Windows PCs. The Accountability software is available for Macs, but the filter is not yet compatible with the Mac operating system.
Different Filter settings may be created for each username, even if several usernames are used on the same computer. For instance, choose more restrictive settings for your child’s username and less strict settings for your own username. Covenant Eyes is flexible and grows with the preferences you request. Or simply use the Covenant Eyes Filter at its standard settings for outstanding family protection.
The CE Filter may be used with the Accountability service or by itself. If you want multiple usernames on the same computer, choose which services are used by each person - Accountability, Filtering or both.
The CE Filter also provides numerous other options. Decide the times of day the Internet may be used, and decide how much time per day or per week the Internet may be surfed under each username. Choose whether to block or to allow specific websites, and this option can be applied differently to each username. This software can be used to help block instant messaging, file sharing, and other protocols. Finally, you can decide which Members may or may not override the Filter.
