Tawana: Bio
BIO-My Story

"Tawana" writes and performs songs that have a unique way of sharing with others the struggles, victories, celebrations, praises, and just a "normal" day in various chapters of her life. Like a good book, with God's hand-turning the pages, she invites her audience to take a look at life through her eyes. Attending one of "Tawana's" concerts is more of an experience rather than just another show. Her music & original lyrics go straight to the heart. She, then, allows God to take over from there. Whether it's a secular event, a Christian music venue or bible based church, "Tawana" shares her faith woven within the context of her songs. This is well received by her audience which often leads to common ground and ministry.

Through the pages of her journey, God has blessed "Tawana" for her desire to honor him through her life and music ministry. Over the past few years, "Tawana" was nominated for the Momentum Awards (Indep. Christian Artist Award) in 3 categories: Contemporary Artist of the Year, Song of the Year (2006-Living Water & 2007-Dancin'On The Clouds), and Female Vocalist of The Year. "Tawana" released her first music project "Just Sing!" in November 2007 that she had produced in Nashville, TN. Due to this step of faith, God has given "Tawana" favor in having her music reach more people by means of traditional and internet radio. Shortly, after the release of her project, 88.1 FM in Kansas picked her song "Keep Christ In Christmas" as the #1 Christmas Song of 2007. Also, "Keep Christ In Christmas" and "Dancin' On The Clouds"(which she co wrote with Jeff Nelson, Nashville Producer & award winning songwriter)received U.S. & International radio airplay at several radio stations in 2008 & 2009. "Tawana" is thankful that God is opening doors to reach more people through radio in her own neighborhood as well as around the world (Matt. 28:18 & 19). And she's quick to give the glory to God for these kind of opportunities.

"Tawana" is also spreading her wings into other areas of ministry as a speaker. She was certified as a Speaker/Singer in 2009 through Stonecroft Ministries, a national women's ministry. In addition to speaking and her singer/songwriting ministry, "Tawana" has been invited as a special guest worship leader at churches, ministry meetings, and conferences in the past as well.

"Tawana's" desire is to allow God to use her to help others through the music he's given her. She strives to honor God with her talents and life as she continues through the pages of this journey that he's chosen for her.

"Tawana" is available for church and "family friendly" community concerts and special events in her local area as well as out of state. For booking inquires, please refer to her contact page for more information.
